Tarantino's twist on the Western genre sees eight people trying to take shelter in a cabin during a blizzard in Wyoming. Every single one of them dies.

'The Departed' (2006) -

Starring A-list actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, and Mark Wahlberg, this Martin Scorsese film kills off nearly everyone by the end. Mark Wahlberg's character, Sergeant Dignam, is the only survivor.

'The Cabin in the Woods' (2011) -

A group of teenagers head for a, well, cabin in the woods. It goes without saying that they didn't have a great time. Only two characters, Dana and Marty, survive.

'Scarface' (1983) -

This classic gangster movie has Tony Montana (Al Pacino) killing dozens of people. He too dies in the end, of course. In fact, only a few people survive, including his ex-wife Elvira (Michelle Pfeiffer) and drug lord Alejandro Sosa (Paul Shenar).

'Carrie' (1976) -

This horror classic sees a bullied teenager taking revenge on the people who humiliated her. She starts a fire during prom where dozens die, crucifies her mother, and a lot more. Carrie dies in the end, too. One character, however, survives.

'Dr. Strangelove' (1964) -

This Stanley Kubrick movie revolves around an American Brigadier and a group of politicians discussing whether or not to deploy a nuclear bomb on the Soviet Union. In the end, multiple nuclear bombs are detonated across the globe, probably wiping out the entire human race.

'Final Destination 5' (2011) -

Trying to cheat death is no easy task in this movie. So much so that everyone dies. And they do so in pretty gruesome ways, including being decapitated, and squashed by a plane’s landing gear.

'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' (2016) -

Both the heroes and the villain die in this 'Star Wars' spin-off. Princess Leia, Darth Vader, and Tarkin did survive though.

'The Blair Witch Project' (1999) -

A group of students get lost in the Black Hills woods while trying to film a documentary about a witch. It turns out the Blair Witch got the best of them.

'Dawn of the Dead' (2004) -

A group of survivors takes refuge in a mall during a zombie outbreak. They then try to figure out a way to escape the undead, but to no avail. The ending is somewhat ambiguous, but pretty much everyone dies.

'Sunshine' (2007) -

It's 2057 and the Sun is dying. A group of astronauts go there and try to save humanity. Most of the crew is killed by their crazy captain, but the others end up dying anyway. Earth is saved in the end though.

'Cloverfield' (2008) -

New York City is under attack by a monster and an evacuation is underway, but, of course, the protagonists manage to make things more complicated. From being smashed by the monster's tail, to helicopter crashes, almost everyone dies in this movie.

'House of Wax' (2005) -

A group of friends get stranded in a small town, where they visit a waxworks museum, and pretty much everyone dies. A famous scene includes one of the characters having his Achilles tendon cut, being coated in wax, and having part of his face pulled off. Ouch!

'The Grey' (2011) -

A plane carrying an oil drilling crew crashes in Alaska. One dies from the wounds, one freezes to death, and another drowns. As for the rest of the crew, they are killed by hungry wolves.

'Hamlet' (1996) -

This film adaptation of of William Shakespeare's play ends with most people dead. Only Horatio (Nicholas Farrell) and a few others make it.

'This Is the End' (2013) -

Apocalyptical events strike as a group of friends are trapped in a house. Notable deaths include being impaled by a street lamp and being eaten by cannibals.

'Seeking a Friend for the End of the World' (2012) -

What do you when you're alone and an asteroid is on a collision course for Earth? You try to find someone to fall in love and then die with, together with the rest of the entire human race, of course.

'Night of the Living Dead' (1968) -

Zombies; they're never good company, right? Not only does mostly everyone die in this movie, but there are some pretty gruesome deaths in this horror classic, too. These include burning to death inside a truck, and being eaten alive by the undead.

Planet Melancholia collides with Earth and kills everyone. Before this happens though, one of the characters kills himself with his horses.

'28 Weeks Later' (2007) -

A group of survivors of a virus outbreak are getting on with their lives, when a woman changes their fate. Everyone dies in the end.

'Dead Man' (1995) -

William Blake (Johnny Depp), who's on the run after killing a man, meets a Native American man called Nobody (Gary Farmer), and they both embark on a journey. They both end up dying, and so do most people around them.

'Casino Royale' (1967) -

In this James Bond spoof, 007 is on a mission to stop the evil SMERSH organization. Bond's duplicitous nephew, Jimmy Bond, swallows an atomic pill, and the blast wipes out everyone inside the casino.

'Beneath the Planet of the Apes' (1970) -

An ape detonates a nuclear bomb, wiping out all life on Earth. A bit sad and nihilistic, but there you have it.

This classic road drama film starring Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda also ends tragically. They all die.

'All Quiet on the Western Front' (1930) -

This film is about the journey of a German army soldier and his company during the First World War. Many characters die in battle, while others are believed to do so in the end, when the camera fades into a cemetery and the movie ends.

'Snowpiercer' (2013) -
