This year, the world marked 80 years since the camp's liberation on January 27, 1945. For the dwindling number of survivors of that dreadful facility, the date was a terrible reminder of what they endured. For society as a whole, it served as a stark warning of how an intolerant and prejudiced mindset can turn people into monsters.
