The diseases making a post-COVID comeback
Infectious diseases that could spell bad news for the next few years

While the world was preoccupied with COVID-19, many other infectious diseases took a back seat. With person-to-person contact severely restricted, the opportunity to pass on the infection was reduced. However, when the world began going back to normal, there was an outbreak of new diseases, such as mpox, as well as the resurgence of diseases like measles and polio in places where we thought they were confined to the past—and they are still on the rise today.
