Many of us book flights to airports thinking they are pretty close to our destination, only to find out they are located miles away.
Most airports are located on the outskirts of cities, but some are way too far from the places they are supposed to serve. Things can get even more confusing when the airport bears the name of a city that is nowhere near its location.

Despite the name, this airport is not actually located in Brussels. Passengers will find themselves arriving in Charleroi instead, which is about 34 miles (55 km) from the Belgian capital.
Warsaw Radom Airport is a joint civil–military airport. It was recently renovated (pictured here under construction) and despite the name, it's not the closest airport to fly to if you're visiting Warsaw. The airport is located some 68 miles (110 km) from the city.
This airport is not actually located in the capital of India’s Karnataka state, Bengaluru. Instead, Bangalore International Airport (as it's also known as) is located 18 miles (29km) from the city.
Denver International Airport is not that close to the Mile High City. Passengers expecting to arrive close to Denver will find themselves 19 miles (30km) away from the capital of Colorado.

Tokyo Narita Airport, also known simply as Narita Airport, is one of the main airports serving the Japanese capital. Tokyo, however, is 36 miles (58 km) away.
London Southend Airport is located in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, which is about 36 miles (58 km) from Central London.
Weeze Airport is sometimes referred to as Düsseldorf Weeze Airport. It's located in Weeze, which is around 38 miles (61 km) from Düsseldorf.
Beauvais-Tillé Airport, also known as Paris-Beauvais Airport, is nowhere near the City of Light. The French capital is 45 miles (72 km) away.
This airport if often advertised as an alternative to those travelling to Barcelona. It turns out, the Catalan capital is not that close to Girona. The distance is 47 miles (76 km).
Stockholm Västerås Airport is one of four airports serving the Swedish capital. This small airport, however, is pretty far from Stockholm, at a distance of 54 miles (87 km).
Reus Airport is sometimes used as an alternative airport to reach Barcelona, except, it's located 55 miles (88 km) away from the city.

Passengers expecting to deboard the plane and find an entrance to Yellowstone Natural Park will be disappointed. The park's closest entrance is 57 miles (92 km) away.
Memmingen Airport is sometimes dubbed "Munich West" by some low-cost airlines, but the airport is nowhere near the Bavarian capital. Munich is 64 miles (103 km) away.

Flying to Torp Sandefjord Airport isn't the quickest way to get to Oslo. The airport is located some 68 miles (110 kilometers) south of the capital city.
