A recent study published in the British Journal of Ophthalmology has highlighted the rise in the number of children with nearsightedness, or myopia. The statistics are worrying, with the prevalence of nearsightedness among kids and adolescents in the past 30 years increasing from 24% in 1990 to almost 36% in 2023.
