Susie Wiles is the first woman ever appointed White House chief of staff. Donald Trump has referred to her as "the ice maiden," and said she was considered a known and feared political operative.

Wiles joined Ronald Reagan's campaign before his election in 1980. Later, she worked to transform politics in Florida, and in 2010 she turned Rick Scott from a businessman into a governor in only seven months.

Florida senator Marco Rubio was picked as Trump's secretary of state. He will need to be confirmed by the Senate where he has served since 2011. Currently, he is the vice-chair of the Senate Select Committee on Foreign Intelligence and also sits on the chamber's Committee on Foreign Relations.

Donald Trump said that Marco Rubio is highly respected and a voice for freedom. His appointment doesn't yet seem to raise red flags for Republicans.

Tulsi Gabbard has been chosen to serve as the director of national intelligence for the United States of America. Her role needs to be confirmed by the Senate.

Donald Trump nominated Representative Matt Gatez to be the US attorney general. his nomination will need to be approved by the Senate.

This Republican from Florida has been a loyal Donald Trump ally. Matt Gaetz was involved in a year-long Justice Department investigation that ended without charges. Though he is still under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for the same allegations, Donald Trump has said that he is "deeply gifted and tenacious."

President-elect Donald Trump has appointed two billionaires, Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, to lead the new "Department of Government Efficiency." This won't be a federal agency but will give outside counsel on how to reform government departments and cut waste.

Elon Musk is a businessman and the co-founder of seven companies including the likes of Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI. He also bought Twitter (now known as X) for $US44 billion in 2022.

Alongside Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy will serve as co-head of the Department of Government Efficiency. Before this nomination, Forbes ranked Vivek Ramaswamy as "the second-wealthiest person to compete in a Republican presidential primary."

Vivek Ramaswamy has founded a biotechnology company, operated as a hedge fund partner, and authored at least two books. He made a bid for the Republican presidential candidacy but dropped out in January 2024 to endorse Trump. His campaign was critical of left-wing ideology, and he famously stated that the "climate agenda is a hoax."

Central to Donald Trump's campaign is the mass deportation of undocumented immigrants. His newly elected "border czar" Tom Homan has said he has a zero-tolerance stance on this issue. Homan was the acting ICE director during Trump's first presidency. The role of border czar is not Senate-confirmed.

South Dakota governor, Kristi Noem will serve as the secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, pending Senate approval. When she was first chosen for the role, some Republicans expressed concerns.

Pending Senate confirmation, Donald Trump has nominated John Ratcliffe to serve as CIA director. Ratcliffe is a congressman from Texas and was director of national intelligence during Trump's first term.

When Ratcliffe was the director of national intelligence, he focused his time and attention on issues regarding China, which he deemed the "greatest threat" to the United States.

The former Arkansas governor will serve as the US ambassador to Israel. He promises to end the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Mike Huckabee served as Trump's first-term press secretary. Historically, he has been outspoken in his support of Israel and rejected the idea of a two-state solution.

Pending Senate approval, the Department of Defense will be led by Fox News host Pete Hegseth. Donald Trump said that Pete Hegseth's time as a veteran as well as his media experience were reasons for his selection.

Pete Hegseth served in the US Army National Guard as an infantry officer. In 2014, he joined Fox News as a contributor and co-host. He's a surprising pick with little leadership experience.

Florida congressman Michael Waltz was selected by Donald Trump to serve as the next national security advisor. This influential role does not require Senate confirmation.

New York Representative Elise Stefanik has been nominated by Trump to be the US ambassador to the United Nations. She made headlines in 2024 when she challenged university presidents about their handling of protests over the Israel-Gaza war.

Stephen Miller was a senior advisor who helped Trump craft immigration policies during his first term. His nomination does not need Senate approval and confirmation. His primary role in Trump's 2024 campaign was pledging to deport illegal immigrants who live in the US.

Dan Scavino is a political advisor who previously served as White House deputy chief of staff for communications from 2017 to 2021. In 2022, Dan Scavino was held in contempt of Congress after not complying with a subpoena from the House committee's investigation into the January 6, 2021, attack on the capital.

Former New York representative Lee Zeldin was chosen by Donald Trump to serve as his administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. When Lee Zeldin takes office he will likely start overturning some of President Biden's legislation regarding climate change.

Steve Witkoff is an American real estate investor who founded the Witkoff Group. He is also a close friend of President-elect Donald Trump. Trump has described Steve Witkoff as a voice for peace.

Other elects include William McGinley for the White House counsel, James Blair as deputy chief of staff, and finally, Taylor Budowich as deputy chief of staff for communications and personnel.
