This episode picks up where the gang left off at the end of season 3. Rachel gives Ross an 18-page letter (front and back) about their "break," and Monica gets stung by a jellyfish, so either Joey or Chandler must urinate on it to subdue the pain.
While getting his nails done, Chandler runs into his ex-girlfriend, Janice, who is recently divorced and wants to reconnect with him. To get away from her, Chandler says his company is transferring him to Yemen.
But his plan backfires when Janice decides she wants to make the best of the time they have together before he has to move. She doesn’t leave his side until he gets on the place, so he ends up actually having to go to Yemen.
Rachel has agreed to take her boss’ niece, Emily, to the opera. However her work crush, Joshua, has finally asked her out on a date for the same night. Rachel tries to convince Ross to take Emily instead.
However, Ross and Emily end up spending the night at a bed and breakfast in Vermont, which upsets Rachel.
In the first part of season 4’s finale, Ross, Monica, Chandler, and Joey fly to London for Ross’s wedding ceremony to Emily. Phoebe is late in her pregnancy with her brother’s triplets and can’t fly. Rachel doesn’t want to attend Ross’s wedding.
In part 2, Rachel decides to fly to London to tell Ross she still has feelings for him, as Phoebe unsuccessfully attempts to get one of the friends on the phone to warn them about Rachel’s decision.
When Ross says Rachel’s name instead of Emily’s in the wedding, Emily decides not to go on the honeymoon to Greece. Rachel tries to convince Ross to go anyway to help him clear his mind.
Ross asks Rachel to go with him because he doesn’t want to be by himself. But Emily shows up at the airport as Ross and Rachel are about to board the plane, and Ross stays behind and Rachel goes to Greece by herself.
In an attempt to hide their relationship after almost getting caught by Joey, Monica and Chandler plan a romantic weekend away together.

At the show, Chandler tells his father he is going to get married and invites him to the ceremony.

Everyone's favorite gang spends a lot of time between their New York City apartments and the Central Perk café down the street. But the friends actually go to quite a few places throughout the series' 10 seasons, as Culture Trip reminds us. It's safe to say 'Friends' fans remember their big trip to England ("London, baby!"), but some of these other excursions have surely slipped your mind.
