Mount Apo on the island of Mindanao is the highest mountain in the Philippine archipelago. With an elevation of 9, 692 feet (2,954 m) above sea level, it's also the most prominent natural feature in the country.
The highest point in East Timor is Tatamailau, on Timor Island. Tatamailau, sometimes referred to as Mount Ramelau, summits at 9,797 feet (2,986 m).
Remote Mount Stephenson rears 9,800 feet (2,987 m) over Alexander Island in the central portion of the Douglas Range, in Antarctica.
The hot, humid island of Bioko is home to Pico Basilé, the tallest mountain of Equatorial Guinea. Volcanic in origin, Basilé has an elevation of 9,878 feet (3,011 m).
At 9,931 feet (3,027 m), Mount Binaiya is the highest point on the Indonesian island of Seram.
Staying in Indonesia, Mount Agung on Bali is an active volcano with an elevation of 9,944 feet (3,031 m). It marks the highest point on the island.
Haleakala is a colossal shield volcano that forms more than 75% of the island of Maui, in Hawaii. Haleakala peaks at 10,023 feet (3,055 m).
Réunion, one of the French volcanic islands in the Mascarene archipelago in the southwestern Indian Ocean, is landmarked by Piton des Neiges, a shield volcano standing 10,070 feet (3,070 m) above sea level. As well as the highest point on Réunion, Piton des Neiges is considered to be the highest point in the Indian Ocean.
Pico Duarte on the island of Hispaniola is 10,174 feet (3,101 m) from top to toe, making it not only the highest point of the island but in all of the Caribbean.
A huge, potentially active volcano on Siple Island in Antarctica, Mount Siple has an elevation of 10,200 feet (3,110 m). It's capped by a summit caldera.
Mount Etna dominates the island of Sicily. An active stratovolcano, Etna is one of the tallest active volcanoes in Europe, and the tallest peak in Italy south of the Alps, with a current height of 11,014 feet (3,357 m).
At 11,411 feet (3,478 m), Mount Latimojong is the highest mountain on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. Latimojong is also known by its peak name, Rantemario.
Mount Semeru, or simply Semeru, summits at 12,060 feet (3,676 m). Despite being an active volcano, Semeru is one of the most popular hiking destinations in East Java, and in fact the whole of Indonesia.
Located north of the Arctic Circle, Gunnbjørn Fjeld is the tallest mountain in Greenland, summiting at 12,119 feet (3,694 m).
Teide is set on the Canary island of Tenerife. At 12,188 feet (3,715 m), it's the highest point on the island and in Spain. Teide is also the highest point above sea level in the islands of the Atlantic.
Aoraki, also known as Mount Cook, is the highest point on South Island and in fact is the highest mountain in New Zealand. It summits at an impressive 12,218 feet (3,724 m).
Sitting in the north of Lombok Island in Indonesia is Mount Rinjani. An active volcano summiting at 12,224 feet (3,726 m), Rinjani is the second highest volcano in Indonesia.

Taiwan is graced by the presence of Yu Shan, also known as Mount Jade. At 12,966 feet (3,952 m), Yu Shan is the island's highest point. The mountain is part of the Yushan National Park, Taiwan's largest, highest, and least accessible national park.
Mount Kinabalu is the highest point of Borneo in Malaysia, and the third-highest peak of an island on Earth. Kinabalu summits at a dizzying 13,435 feet (4,095 m).
The second-highest peak of an island on Earth is Mauna Kea, a shield volcano on the island of Hawaii. Mauna Kea is an impressive 13,803 feet (4,207 m) in height.
The highest peak of an island found anywhere on Earth is Puncak Jaya, in New Guinea. With an elevation of 16,024 feet (4,884 m), Puncak Jaya is also the highest peak in Indonesia.
