King Charles III, everyman: Pictures of the new monarch mingling with world politicians
King Charles and President Joe Biden crack each other up at Windsor Castle in first formal meeting of royal reign
CELEBRITY Royals
On September 8, 2022, Prince Charles became King Charles III following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. He is now the figurehead of a monarchy and will top the headlines for quite some time to come. Even once the initial buzz dies down, he will be sent this way and that for diplomatic missions, photo ops, and public appearances for as long as he reigns. Thankfully, old Charlie has some experience in that department. Ever since he was a child, he has been flown around the world to shake hands with all sorts of politicians and public figures. By now, he should be a pro.
He certainly seemed at ease in the first formal meeting of his royal reign with US President Joe Biden on July 10. The two laughed it up at Windsor Castle, where the White House previously said the president was traveling "to further strengthen the close relationship between our nations." Though the two men had met before, particularly when Biden was Vice President, it was their first formal meeting since Charles became King.
Let's look back at some of our favorite pictures of Charles wowing world leaders with his charisma.
